Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Corporate Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting of Europe and Asia corporate business units. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the successful candidate will work closely with Finance and business unit stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, strengthen financial processes, and provide useful analysis that supports business decisions.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly corporate accounting and reporting packages, including supporting schedules and variance explanations.
  • Lead monthly intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Complete month-end journal entries, accruals, and related close activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate IFRS 16 accounting entries.
  • Manage fixed asset capitalization and monthly depreciation processes.
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedules and related amortization.
  • Oversee the accounts receivable ledger, including chargeback invoicing, collections, and investigation of overdue balances.
  • Prepare transfer pricing calculations and tax filings.
  • Support year-end audits and profitability adjustments.
  • Analyze month-over-month and quarter-over-quarter variances and communicate key findings.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting deliverables for the parent company.
  • Provide financial reports and analysis to business unit leaders as needed.
  • Mentor and support Corporate Accountants.
  • Respond to ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and collaboration while supporting environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Requirements:

  • CPA designation or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
  • Real estate accounting experience is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Yardi, Elevate, and Concur is an asset but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Curious, adaptable, and motivated to identify and implement improvements.

Remuneration:

  • $85,000 - $95,000
