Senior Accountant

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior Accountant to strengthen a growing finance team and support accurate, timely financial reporting. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data, improving processes, and providing insights that help leadership make informed business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
• Reconcile complex accounts and investigate variances
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities with clear analysis
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Assist with audits by preparing working papers and responding to auditor requests
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations
• Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership
• Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work

Requirements:

• CPA designation or near completion
• 4-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of IFRS or ASPE
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
• Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Remuneration:

$80,000 - $90,000 Base Salary
