Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Procurement Analyst to support the efficient execution of P2P activities within a growing team. This role is responsible for ensuring purchase requests, invoices, vendor payments, and financial processes are completed accurately and on time.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers while contributing to process improvements, automation initiatives, and the overall effectiveness of the Procure-to-Pay function.
Initially a 6 month contract term this role offers the potential for longer term assignments
Responsibilities
- Create, review, and manage purchase requisitions in accordance with company policies and budget requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and ensure requests are processed efficiently.
- Validate and process supplier invoices by matching them to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Investigate invoice discrepancies and coordinate resolutions to support timely vendor payments.
- Maintain coding structures and reference models for complex invoices and procurement transactions.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Finance, and operational teams to support end-to-end P2P processes.
- Respond to stakeholder requests for procurement and financial information, including invoices, purchase orders, spending reports, and rate details.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Support month-end financial activities, including accruals and reporting requirements.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to Digital project managers.
- Contribute to automation and AI-driven initiatives designed to improve procurement and payment processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the P2P cycle.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of experience in Procurement, Accounts Payable, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working with ERP or financial systems such as JD Edwards and/or ePro.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Solid financial and accounting knowledge gained through work experience, education, or professional training.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- Relevant Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration certification considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with four days per week in the Calgary office.
