Just HR is conducting a search for a talented and motivated Human Resources Business Partner with one of our clients located in Prince George. Responsibilities:
- Build strong, trust-based relationships across all levels of the organization—from the frontline to senior leadership—through a visible, hands-on HR presence
- Provide practical HR support and guidance on day-to-day employee and labour relations matters, helping leaders navigate challenges with confidence and clarity
- Work closely with union representatives, manage the day-to-day administration of collective agreements, and support the organization in preparing for negotiations and arbitrations
- Lead or contribute to workplace investigations, including those involving human rights, employment standards, or other sensitive matters
- Deliver relevant and engaging training sessions for leaders, supervisors, and staff on key HR topics including performance management, conflict resolution, and compliance
- Design and implement effective hiring strategies for frontline roles, with a focus on community engagement and cultural inclusiveness
- Guide and support managers in employee development, succession planning, and internal career growth conversations
- Actively participate in business planning by aligning HR strategies with operational goals and identifying ways HR can contribute to service delivery and innovation
- Co-lead occupational health and safety initiatives by contributing to risk prevention strategies and participating in joint OH&S committee activities
- Help research, shape, and implement people policies and procedures that support the evolving needs of the organization and its workforce
- Collaborate with Indigenous communities and other external stakeholders to strengthen diversity and inclusion across all aspects of the employee experience
- Continuously identify opportunities for improvement in HR practices, processes, and systems to ensure they remain people-focused, efficient, and forward-thinking
Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in unionized environments
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect with people from all walks of life
- Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities and/or advancing reconciliation initiatives is a strong asset
- Knowledge of BC employment law and collective bargaining agreements
- Demonstrated success supporting and coaching leaders at various levels
- Ability to navigate complexity with confidence, clarity, and empathy
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment that values innovation over bureaucracy
- A CPHR designation or equivalent is an asset but not required
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Remuneration:
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000 annually
