  • Build automated Excel processes that update forecasts when new data or assumptions are entered.
  • Create flexible models that allow the organization to assess different financial scenarios and understand potential outcomes.
  • Review existing financial data, assumptions, and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop clear, structured forecasting models that are accurate, scalable, and easy for internal teams to maintain.
  • Work directly with the CFO to understand financial reporting needs, planning priorities, and key business drivers.
  • Incorporate relevant financial and operational inputs into forecasting models to support better planning.
  • Test and validate models to ensure formulas, assumptions, and outputs are accurate and consistent.
  • Document model structure, formulas, and update processes to support ongoing use after the contract ends.
  • Prepare clear summaries and presentations of the completed models and forecasts for the CFO and board.
  • Complete the project within the three-month contract period, ensuring the organization has the tools and knowledge needed for continued use.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience developing financial models, budgets, and forecasting tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, dynamic models, data validation, and process automation.
  • Experience building automated forecasting models that adjust based on updated inputs and assumptions.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, scenario analysis, and financial drivers.
  • Ability to translate financial data into practical insights that support business decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience creating models that are well-organized, clearly documented, and easy for others to maintain.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial models and assumptions to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results within a defined project timeline.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations is an asset.
  • Experience presenting financial analysis to senior leadership or a board of directors is an asset.
  • Candidates based in Vancouver are preferred to support in-person meetings and the final presentation.

Remuneration:

  • Contract Length: 3 months
  • Work Arrangement: Fully remote, with a preference for Vancouver-based candidates who can attend in-person meetings as needed.
  • Maximum Pay Rate: $75 per hour

Only candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered
